NEW DELHI: A prominent Baloch exile from Pakistan said in Geneva today that if the UN held a referendum, 90 per cent of the Baloch people would vote for freedom, reported ANI. "Earlier during the HRC session, the issue of Balochistan was highlighted by the African Regional Agricultural Credit Association, which said that human rights violations against the Baloch people continue unabated. It drew attention "to the thousands of people who have disappeared without a trace" from Balochistan.It accused HRC member state Pakistan of violating the morals of what the Council stood for. It added that Pakistani security forces muzzled any voice that spoke out about the situation in Balochistan.The Centre for Human Rights and Peace Advocacy, too, accused Pakistan of continuous persecution of the Baloch people. It said that "inhuman violations such as enforced disappearances and arbitrary detentions against women and children occur on a daily basis.
