The scorching weather on the weekend felt like a small taste of summer, but it may be some time before we get a second bite. The hot air and clear skies will be interrupted by cold and rain later in the week, with the South Island getting hit first. "That front is going to affect the South island around Tuesday or Wednesday, and should start affecting the North Island on Friday, but for the majority of the week the North Island will see reasonably nice weather."
