BALING: An unemployed woman was charged at the Baling Magistrate's Court today with driving under the influence of drugs and causing the death of a senior police officer and his wife. Yeow Chiew Fern, 37, pleaded not guilty and claimed trial to the charge under Section 44 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which was read before Magistrate Mohd Izmi Ibrahim. The accused's driving licence is suspended until her case is concluded. Earlier, the accused who was clad in a purple T-shirt and black trousers, arrived at the court with a police escort about 9am. She was seen calm and chatting with other detainees in the court while waiting for the proceedings to begin.
