Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) member and Baldia Town fire suspect Raees Mamma has been arrested in Malaysia, reported a private media outlet on Saturday. A wanted suspect in a number of cases, including the 2012 Baldia Town fire, was arrested in Malaysia with the help of Interpol and will soon be brought to Karachi. Raees Mamma had reportedly left for Dubai after the arrest of another former MQM member Saeed alias Bharam during the Rangers operation in Karachi. In 2014, then MQM leader and current MQM-Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar had publicly disowned Raees during a TV programme. In October, another Baldia Town tragedy suspect, MQM’s former Karachi Tanzeemi Committee Hammad Siddiqui, was arrested in Dubai.
