KAJANG: Should he be given the mandate by Balakong voters to represent them as their new assemblyman, MCA candidate Tan Chee Teong (pic) said on Tuesday (Aug 21) that he will address the long-standing issue of flooding on Jalan Sungai Chua. The main road connecting the SILK Highway to Kajang town through Sungai Chua, Jalan Sungai Chua experiences floods about four to five times a year whenever there is heavy downpour. Tan said that he had pinpointed the cause of the issue to a large culvert passing through Taman Seri Kota beside Winnie Plaza. “This culvert is supposed to carry rainwater from the main road to the nearby Langat River,” said Tan. “However, the U-shaped (square) culvert flows into a smaller V-shaped section downstream, restricting the flow of water.
