This bag of ground crickets, raised by Norwood, Ont.-based Entomo Farms, weighs 113 grams and costs $14 (on sale from $15). At this price, these crickets better taste amazing. I picked some up in the store’s health food section — next to the gluten-free flours and sugar substitutes—and got baking. This one batch of bread, which I shaped into crickets and decorated with licorice legs, cost $14. So I probably won’t be making cricket bread again but if you want to discover what cricket bread tastes like in its purest form, here’s the recipe.
