A certificate of Safe Travels Protocols dated April 30, 2021 was sent online by Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat to Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong. The Safe Travels Stamp from the WTTC was issued to the City Government of Baguio in the Destination Category while the Grand Seirra Pines Baguio was issued the same stamp in the Entity Category. The WTTC Safe Travels Stamp is the world’s first safety and hygiene stamp for travelers to recognize governments and businesses that have adopted global health standardized protocols amid the pandemic. The DoT opened the application for the WTTC Safe Travels Stamp last March to all its accredited accommodation establishments and destinations topen to local tourists. Recipients of Safe Travels Stamps are expected to comply with the WTTC Safe Travels Protocols through the DoT Health and Safety Guidelines, according to OIC Director Warner Andrada of the DoT – Office of Tourism Development Planning, Research and Information Management.
