SportMattegoda Malay Association together with the Sri Lanka Malay Confederation, the holding body for Malay Associations in Sri Lanka, will organise an All-Island Malay Badminton Tournament on March 24. This is the first time an All-Island Malay Badminton Tournament will be held in Sri Lanka. About 100 Shuttlers from Malay Associations islandwide, are expected to participate in this inaugural tournament. This will be an Annual event and will be conducted in 3 categories namely, Under-15 Boys and Girls (Singles & Doubles), Men and Women Open (Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles), Men and Women Veterans [Over 40 years (Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles). The objective of this tournament is to promote Badminton among the Malay youth of Sri Lanka.
