Badal RoyBadal was a star midfielder in the 1980sFormer star national footballer and long-time football administrator Badal Roy breathed his last Sunday afternoon due to liver cancer. One of the country’s superstar footballers in the yesteryears, Badal was suffering from severe health issues for the last couple of years, and was recently diagnosed with stage four liver cancer. The National Award winner was admitted to the Square Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit last week, after being transferred from Asghar Ali Hospital. Badal was a star midfielder in the 1980s. Following his demise, Bangladesh Basketball Federation expressed deep sadness and prayed for the salvation of his departed soul.
