Although police say number of fatal accidents have come down from last year, reality is quite the contraryRoad accidents are nothing new in the national capital. In the first case, a speeding Fortuner allegedly hit two people in east Delhi's Pandav Nagar, early on Thursday. According to the police, most accidents occur in the wee hours, as roads are vacant and motorists tend to overspeed and violate traffic norms. Awareness drives, action against violators, installing missing speed signs and improving the condition of roads are not implemented with urgency. We have also told them to put up missing road signs.
