Bad News To Ruto As Judiciary Agree With Raila, Declines Petition to Stop Azimio Demos.

The planned Azimio protests that were set to take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were effectively put on hold as a result of the High Court's refusal to issue an injunction. A petition to stop the widespread protests announced by Raila Odinga, the head of the Azimio Coalition, was submitted in court by a businessman called Martin Gitau, who was represented by Attorney Adrian Kamotho. According to a directive from Justice Lawrence Mugambi, the application and petition pertaining to the protests must be submitted within the next three days. Gitau named the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, former president Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, and the ODM as respondents in his petition. He argued that the protests, if allowed to proceed, could lead to businesses coming to a standstill and severely disrupt the transportation system, similar to what occurred during the Saba Saba protests in the past.
