The solution must be for Labour to commit to creating a manufacturing revival, primarily benefiting our old industrial heartlands where those seats are. This is the way to steadier, more satisfying jobs, to productivity increases, to pay our way in the world, and to rebalance the economy – just what Red Wall voters want. This will have dire consequences for millions, particularly those in the Red Wall seats.
