Fire, police and ambulance are at the scene of the Fruitvale Rd property in New Lynn which was engulfed in fire. Fire Service northern shift manager Karen Larking said everyone had managed to get out of the burning home but a baby was being treated for smoke inhalation. Larking said the home and garage were well alight when fire crews arrived at the scene. It had been escalated to a second alarm with five trucks used to extinguish the flames.
