KANGAR (Bernama): A mentally unstable man suspected of causing the death of his six-month-old baby at his house in Kampung Baroh here has been remanded on Wednesday (May 29). Perlis police chief Datuk Noor Mushar Mohamad said the 44-year-old suspect smacked the baby girl after a quarrel with his wife, who told him to take his medication for his mental illness last Saturday (May 25). A medical team from Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) arrived at the scene and pronounced the baby dead at 3.24pm," he said. He said there was no report on domestic violence lodged by the wife, while the suspect had previously received treatment for mental illness at HTF. The suspect was detained at his residence on Tuesday at about4 pm and was remanded from Wednesday until June 4.
