A baby died in Starship Hospital after a 'tragic accident' at a Paeroa home. The accidental death of an infant in Paeroa is being investigated by Waikato police. Emergency services were called to the Waikato home on June 21 and the child was taken to Starship Hospital, police said in a statement to Stuff. A Givealittle page set up for Malia Kaufana said she died after a tragic accident, described as a fall, while playing. The Eastern Waikato Child Protection Team is investigating the death and it will be referred to the coroner.
