“It was a very pleasant experience to interact with the young minds,” Agarwal told the DNA after the class. The idea was picked up when the suggestion came up at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Lok Samvad recently that government officials should engage classes to improve the quality of education at state-run schools. About 200 state government officials will cover as many schools under this initiative, in a week. The bureaucrats will also address the students in morning assemblies, impart value education lessons and guide the students through career counselling etc. Besides bettering the quality of education at government schools, the initiative aims to help the officials keep a tab on the infrastructure requirements, mid-day meal quality or attendance of students and teachers at the schools.
