Stones were hurled at BJP candidate Babul Supriyo’s car after he stepped out of an Asansol booth on Monday alleging rigging by Trinamul supporters. “Trinamul workers had driven our polling agent out of the booth after beating him up. Supriyo alleged that Trinamul workers were intimidating voters and asking them to vote for their candidate. As Supriyo came out of the booth, Trinamul workers surrounded him and he had to be escorted by his guards to his SUV. Supriyo alleged Trinamul workers were trying to confine him in Barabani so that they could “peacefully rig the polls” in other areas.
