Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and his bodyguard were released yesterday on Sh20,000 personal bond each, after they were charged with assaulting a park attendant. Babu and Fanuel Owino denied the charge before chief magistrate Francis Andayi. In his ruling, Andayi said the accused had been released on personal bond by the police and they had voluntarily produced themselves in court. Andayi released them on Sh20,000 personal bond each and directed that they be supplied with copies of all witness statements. A video had also emerged online allegedly showing Babu and his guards beat Gichagu after he denied them access.
