The BTMA made the demand in a letter to Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Ahmad Kaikaus on March 22. "So it will be very difficult to pay workers wages and bonus," reads the letter. “In the given context, the BTMA urged the government to form a fund with such an amount by which the primary textile sector can workers wages, two Eid bonuses and meet other expenses for six months,” says the letter signed by BTMA President Mohammad Ali Khokon. The Association also demanded a provision of paying the loans through equated monthly installment (EMI) by the next 36 months. The BTMA president also called for waiver of interest of term loans for six months and extension of repayment of that loans with six-month moratorium facilities.
