The police said an attempt was made to kidnap Vinay, the personal assistant of Opposition Leader in the Legislative Council K.S. The police arrested a few habitual offenders in this connection, who later confessed that it was at the behest of Urs, who is said to be a close aide of State BJP President B.S. Investigations later revealed that he was part of the gang of four who tried to kidnap Vinay after intercepting his car in Mahalakshmi Layout in broad daylight. The Mahalakshmi Layout police summoned Urs for questioning four days ago, but he went underground only to appear before the police on Tuesday with an anticipatory bail.
