Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members have allegedly picked up a Bangladeshi cattle trader from Burirhat frontier area under Lalmonirhat’s Kaliganj upazila. “Chaltu along with few other Bangladeshi cattle traders allegedly intruded into Indian territory through Burirhat border early Sunday,” Lalmonirhat BGB 15 Battalion Director Lt Col Golam Morshed told the Dhaka Tribune. “A patrol team of Jalpaiguri’s 100-BSF Battalion opened gunfire at them. “All but Chaltu managed to escape the scene and was detained around 3am,” he added. Sources said Chaltu suffered bullet injuries and was also brutally beaten up by the BSF members.
