BSF jawan, 6-year-old boy killed as Pak forces pound villages in Jammu sector


A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan and a six-year old boy were killed while a BSF officer and another jawan were among six others injured as Pakistan Rangers used mortars and heavy machine gun fire through Sunday night in Jammu sector. At least 25 Indian posts and over 18 villages were targeted along the international border in RS Pura, Kanachak, Arnia, Akhnoor and Pargwal sectors of Jammu district. Pakistan targeted almost all posts north of Suchetgarh in RS Pura to Chenab River in Akhnoor. A BSF jawan Ayyappa Babu of 33 Battalion also suffered bullet injuries in his left leg at a post in Chenab River area in Pargwal sector. “Pargwal, Gharkhal and Kanachak witnessed heavy firing including mortars by Pakistan,” a local from RS Pura said.
