A 26-member delegation of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has arrived in Bangladesh through the Benapole check post to participate in a joint training session with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on border control management. BSF Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Nath is leading the team, comprising eight other officers, which entered Bangladesh territory at 12 noon on Sunday, confirmed BGB sources. Jessore BGB 49 Battalion Comander Lt Col Ariful Haq received the delegates soon after they reached the Bangladesh-India no-mans land near the check post, said Benapole Integrated Check Post’s Camp Commander Subedar Abdul Wahab. The training will be held for two weeks at the BGB Training Centre and School in Baitul Izzat area of Satkania, Chittagong to help stop drugs and arms smuggling, illegal intrusion and trafficking of women and children.
