BSEC asks police to bar MDs of three listed companies from leaving country

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) sent a request letter in this regard to the additional inspector general (ADG) of CID of Bangladesh Police on December 6. The three managing directors are: Azimul Islam of Alif Manufacturing Company, Mohammad Ali of Imam Button Industries and Tasbirul Ahmed Chowdhury of United Airways. The other three directors, all of Imam Button, are: Jebunessa Akhter, Hamida Begum and Lokman Chowdhury. Despite the BSEC asking the directors to explain the violations physically, the directors failed to, the letter said. The regulator suspected that the directors may leave the country for various reasons soon.
