The technical disruption in NSE this past Monday halted trading for three good hours, while BSE operated normally.“At BSE, our systems are the fastest in the world. Also, they should have an opportunity to trade in case they want to make any decisions on trading. The NSE sent a notice to the rival bourse on Monday, asking it to provide reasons for the spurt in trade. In terms of our transaction charges, what we decided was that ultimately whether you trade for Rs 10,000 crore or Rs 10,000, the computer works the same. Some market players feel BSE could benefit from it, as traders would spread their bets on both exchanges from now on.
