THE Philippine Navy announced that the presidential yacht, BRP Ang Pangulo (ACS-25), has started accepting patients diagnosed with coronavirus disease (Covid-19), following the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to have the ship transformed into a quarantine facility. All the ship’s officers and personnel participated in transforming some of the VIP compartments into a medical ward and patient rooms. Maria Christina Roxas, Navy spokesman, reiterated that the ship could accommodate 28 patients with five medical personnel. Roxas said three exclusive compartments followed the required three-meter distance between patients. The ship is currently docked in Davao, home province of President Rodrigo Duterte.
