A Health Ministry statement said that the number of deaths reached 23 and injuries are 25 in the attack that targeted a bus affiliated to a Coptic monastery in Minya. The bus was subjected to heavy shooting from anonymous militants while passing a road south El Edwa city in Minya governorate, Minya director of security Faisal Dewidar told Egypt Independent Friday. He asserted that he is heading to the site of the incident to get more details on what took place. He added that all cases of injuries were immediately transferred to the nearest hospital in Minya. The ‘Copts United’ media outlet noted that anonymous militants that were hiding in a hill overlooking the road suddenly appeared and opened fire on the bus.
