BN's Bilut candidate inspired by late uncle's good work

BENTONG: As a young boy, Poo Mun Hoong used to admire his late uncle Datuk Poo Yew Choy who worked tirelessly from sunrise until wee hours of the morning to serve Bilut constituents. His uncle’s passion and hardwork as a five-term Bilut assemblyman (1974-1990) prompted the 37-year-old to enter politics and got his big break to emulate his uncle’s footsteps after being named to contest the Bilut state seat in the 14th General Election (GE14). The Bentong MCA Youth chief said he grew up watching his late uncle and late father, who served as a Bentong district councillor, meeting people, holding discussions and helping solve the people’s problems. “Despite the late hours, they got great satisfaction from helping others and were passionate about their responsibilities as the elected representatives. “Sadly Barisan Nasional lost the Bilut seat in the 13th General Election(GE13) and in GE14, I have been given the responsibility to regain the state seat.
