BNP standing committee member and Chairman of the party's Election Steering Committee, Nazrul Islam Khan, made the remarks while speaking to journalists after a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A. M. M. Nasiruddin at the Election Building in Agargaon. We have requested the Election Commission to strictly fulfill its legal responsibilities so that the election is conducted in a free, fair, impartial and peaceful environment," he said. The veteran BNP leader stressed that the Election Commission's role must not create any perception of bias toward any particular party or candidate. During the meeting, discussions were held with Chief Election Commissioner A. M. M. Nasiruddin and EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed. The BNP delegation included Chairman's Advisory Council member and Election Steering Committee member Ismail Zabihullah, Election Steering Committee team leader Dr. Zakaria, and BNP Media Cell member Shyhrul Kabir Khan.
