Despite questioning the neutrality of the current EC led by KM Nurul Huda, which will organise the next general election, the BNP sat with the commission in the ongoing 'election dialogue' on Sunday. On being asked by a journalist whether he was hopeful about a positive outcome of the EC dialogue, Fakhrul replied, "Of course, we are hopeful to some extent." The BNP has not agreed on constitutional changes that enable the partisan government to be in power during parliamentary election. "There must be arrangements to organise the parliamentary election under the rule of an election-time supporting, neutral government," Mirza Fakhrul said. He also assured the EC of all sorts of cooperation by his party to hold an inclusive, free and fair election.
