BNP has given 20-point proposals to the Election Commission (EC) for the next general elections which is likely to be held in December 2018. Election commissioners and its high officials were present in the meeting with BNP delegation which started around 11am on Sunday. While briefing the media, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam: “The proposals including demands for supportive government, army deployment, withdrawal of fake cases against BNP leaders, and bring an end to the killings and forced disappearance.”Also Read- BNP bent on interim government, not sure about formulaEarlier in the day, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said: “BNP has played an important role in establishing democracy in Bangladesh. “The party formed government thrice in Bangladesh.”The Election Commission on August 24 started holding dialogues with 40 registered political parties to receive their opinions over the EC’s preparation for the next national election likely to be held in December 2018. The EC will hold talks with Awami League on October 18.
