BNP candidate Mohammad Zakir Hossain has been elected unofficially from Mymensingh-5 constituency. File photoDHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - BNP candidate Mohammad Zakir Hossain has been elected unofficially from Mymensingh-5 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election. He secured 1,28, 896 votes with Sheaf of Paddy symbol while his nearest rival Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Matiur Rahman Akanda bagged 1,02,228 votes. In this constituency 1,54,913 voters cast votes for 'Yes' while 52,345 others cast 'No' votes in the referendum. The results were announced from the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon today.
