Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Abdul Gafur has been elected unofficially from Kushtia-2 constituency. File photoDHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Abdul Gafur has been elected unofficially from Kushtia-2 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election. He bagged 1,92,083 votes while his nearest rival BNP candidate Ragib Rouf Chowdhury got 143,821 votes. In this constituency, a total of 2,38,134 voters cast votes for 'Yes' while 76,161 others cast 'No' votes in the referendum. Earlier, voting was held from 7:30 am to 4:30pm across 42,779 polling centres in 299 constituencies nationwide on Thursday.
