The protests will be held on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said at a press conference on Thursday. Protest rallies will be held across the country on Tuesday, Fakhrul said“We do not want any conflict. We want to create a peaceful environment where people will be able to exercise their franchise,” the BNP leader said. The BNP demonstrated across the country on Feb 9-10 in immediate reaction to the verdict and then went for a three-day protest programme that ended on Wednesday with a token hunger strike. Khaleda’s attorneys are waiting for a certified copy of the trial court’s verdict, in order to appeal the conviction in the High Court.
