This is for the first time that the BNP MPs staged a walkout in the 11th parliament. Speaking on the point of order on Tuesday, BNP MP M Harunur Rashid said even the chief election commissioner ruled out the scope of the involvement of MPs in any local government election, reports UNB. Later, Awami League MP Amir Hossain Amu, coordinator of the DSCC committee, also criticized the BNP MP for raising such a tiny issue in the House. At this stage, Harun and BNP MPs M Zahidur Rahman, M Mosharraf Hossain, M Aminul Islam and Rumeen Farhana started shouting, saying the two Awami League MPs are talking about irrelevant matters. When their plea was not entertained, the BNP MPs staged the walkout.
