KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara's international reserves declined by US$600mil to US$101.4bil as at Dec 14, 2018 compared with two weeks earlier.Bank Negara said on Friday the international reserves were sufficient to finance 7.4 months of retained imports and was one time the short-term external debt.The foreign reserves had declined from the US$102bil on Nov 30. The reserves then were sufficient to finance 7.5 months of retained imports and were one time the short-term external debt.The main components of the international reserves were foreign currency reserves (US$95.6bil), International Monetary Fund reserves position (US$900mil), Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) (US$1.1bil), gold (US$1.5bil) and other reserve assets (US$2.3bil).The ringgit had strengthened slightly against the US dollar during the two-week period to 4.1815 on Dec 14 from 4.1880 on Nov 30.
