Bavaria based carmaker BMW has begun manufacturing the soon to be launched 5 series sedan at its Chennai plant. The launch of the BMW 5 series is scheduled for June 29. The BMW 5 series comes to India via the CKD (Completely Knocked-Down) route and is then assembled at the carmaker's Chennai plant. Many BMW dealers in India have already begun taking bookings for Rs 2 to 3 lakh.
