KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Group Malaysia’s sales of BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad vehicles slipped 19 per cent to 11,567 units from 14,338 units sold in 2018. The premium German marquee said the sales were underlined by the introduction of 32 new model variants across all brands, citing that four of which were electrified vehicles. BMW Malaysia managing director Harald Hoelzl said the company was proud to have achieved such success within the electrified segment in Malaysia, reaffirming its optimism for the year ahead. BMW Malaysia said it had continued to reinforce its position as the leading e-mobility provider in Malaysia, having delivered a total of 3,148 electrified BMW and MINI vehicles in 2019. It added that Malaysia had the steady uptake of electromobility, having delivered 17,000 electrified vehicles since 2015.
