In order to do away with delays in giving permission for tree trimming, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to take the process of giving permission online. Now, residents can apply for permission to trim trees within a set amount of time through the link available on the MCGM app. However, it was alleged that the contractor appointed by the BMC had done a shoddy work of trimming the tree, which resulted in tree falling. However, with the online system in place, now, residents can upload photographs of the tree that need to be trimmed to the link available on the MCGM App. He added that the complainant can also deposit a fee for the work online and track the status of the work to be done.
