According to activists, illegal commercial constructions in the western suburbs, especially in Bandra, Santracuz, Khar area regularised by the BMC by submitting the amended plan. The report submitted by junior engineers have facts twisted to get clearance from the head quarters," Aftab Siddiqui, an activist from Khar, said. "Junior engineers and sub-engineers of the building and proposal department of the BMC are hand in gloves with the architects and builders. "Also, when complaints about illegal constructions are filed, the ward office forwards it to the building proposal or building factory department. There is no co-ordination between the law department and building factory department, which fuels the illegal constructions," Siddiqui added.
