The Opposition Congress, on Sunday, accused the BJP of running a negative election campaign to hide failures of its governments at the state and Centre. Speaking with reporters just before the campaigning for the April 23 polls ended, state Congress president Amit Chavda said his party had campaigned on positive issues, while the BJP had resorted to a negative campaign. The Congress raised issues concerning the people, but the BJP, instead of giving an account of the work done by it, carried out a negative campaign with cheap remarks," Chavda alleged. A senior BJP leader, however, denied the charge, and said his party's campaign revolved around the work done by the Modi-led government. "It is the Congress which resorted to negative campaigning by dragging in the PM's name in a non-existent scam," he said.
