Jalpaiguri BJP MP Jayanta Roy held a demonstration in front of the district magistrate’s office here on Friday to protest against police’s refusal to allow him and other party leaders to leave homes during the lockdown. Apart from the MP, BJP workers, too, took part in the protest. The BJP alleged that the state health department had failed to carry out tests of suspected coronavirus patients in Jalpaiguri and there were anomalies in distribution of food grains. Roy, along with Jalpaiguri district BJP chief Bapi Goswami and some other leaders, reached the district magistrate’s office at Collectorate Avenue here on Friday morning. They met district magistrate Abhishek Tiwari.
