Authorities at Pondicherry Central University have stopped the distribution of a campus magazine published by students — less than a week after it was launched. University authorities, meanwhile, sealed a room used by student council leaders, where about 4,000 copies of the English magazine were stored. On Monday, leaders of BJP’s Puducherry unit had organised a sit-in protest in front of the university gate, where they burnt copies of the magazine, Widerstand, which means “resistance” in German. As the protests reportedly prompted the HRD Ministry to enquire about the issue, university officials said they had no knowledge of the magazine’s contents. V-C Khan said they had stopped distribution of the copies following protests.
