The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said its revenue posted a “double-digit” expansion in the second month of the Duterte administration, without citing data. During the first month of the Duterte government in July, BIR collections dipped one percent to P117.4 billion. Despite the decline in July, the seven month collections were still up nine percent to P1.13 trillion. Customs, meanwhile, raised P31 billion that month, up three percent from the same period a year ago. According to DOF, various reforms on revenue agencies had been undertaken during the first 100 days of President Duterte.
