The National Commission for Women (NCW) has found Banaras Hindu University (BHU) vice-chancellor Girish Chandra Tripathi responsible for the disturbance and the violence that took place on campus last month. It was also found that male cops lathi-charged girl students and women cops were not roped in to handle the disturbance, she added. Tripathi was sent on leave and major steps were taken to upgrade security of girl students.
