BGB man goes missing in Teesta River while chasing smugglers


A member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has gone missing in the Teesta river while chasing smugglers in Patgram upazila of Lalmonihat district. 42-year-old Lance Nayek Sumon Hawladar went missing early Tuesday. He is the son of Hekim Ali of Habiganj district, reports UNB. Lalmonirhat BGB-15 Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col Golam Morshed said: “Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB men went to the area and chased a group of smugglers around 2:30 am. “At one stage, Sumon slipped into the river and went missing.”Later, BGB launched a rescue operation to trace Sumon.
