The detained has been identified as Md Sojib Uddin Mazar Bhuiyan, 30, hailing from Gonirgram village in Assam's Shilchar district, India, confirmed Lt Col Md Rafiqul Islam, commanding officer of BGB battalion 19. Acting on a tip-off a patrol team from Dona Border Outpost of BGB battalion 19, conducted a drive in the area and held the man with the contraband drugs at 7pm, Lt Col Rafiqul said. BGB also found a driving license, an income tax card and a ATM card in his possession. He was handed over to Kanaighat police station after a case was lodged against him under the Narcotics Control Act, the BGB officer added.
