The Border Coordination Conference between the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) from Meghlaya, Guwahati, Silchar, Tripura frontier concluded yesterday. They also spoke of illegal trespassing of Indians into Bangladeshi territory, smuggling of various drugs including phensedyl and yaba. The BGB also expressed grave concerns over cattle smuggling from India into Bangladesh stating that it was having a detrimental impact on the economy. “If the cattle smuggling can be stopped, then our farmers will get better rates at the market and the economy will have a chance to grow. The director general also said firm measures will be taken against any Indian insurgents discovered in Bangladesh.
