Fifa recently announced a relief plan to assist the football community impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with a total of around USD 150 million to be distributed among the 211 national football governing bodies around the world. Abu Nayeem Shohag, the BFF general secretary, informed through a video message that they have already informed about their economic loss to the parent organisations. “Bangladesh Premier League, Championship League, Women’s Football League, School league and Bangabandhu National Championships which we had to postpone due to Covid-19 pandemic cost us financially. We are trying to get Fifa’s support to mitigate the damage.”Shohag continued, “The BPL clubs asked for financial subsidies during the league committee meeting yesterday (Saturday). BFF is also working on it and hopeful for a positive feedback from Fifa.”
