Senate Majority Whip and Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata [Boniface Okendo, Standard]The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) has accommodated the views of the residents to make the referendum acceptable. Senate Majority Whip Irungu Kang’ata said he was convinced that views from Mt Kenya region that the BBI should include Guaranteed Minimum Return (GMR) prices have been captured. Kang’ata was a week ago appointed to lead BBI campaigns in the Mt Kenya region. He added that BBI has considered additional constituencies in the Mt Kenya region, which the Andrew Ligale committee ignored. Last year, Kang’ata introduced a motion in the senate to create a ward fund for the MCAs.
